I too purchased Borderlands from Amazon. It was the only recently
released game which got the $20 treatment. I remember getting FarCry 2,
Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead last year for $18-20 each, during these days.
I avoid buying retail games from download services, otherwise Mass
Effect at $5 from Direct2Drive is quite tempting. Though I did get
Lucidity from Steam ($2.5) but then it's only available as a download.
I may get Halo 2 as well from GoGamer.

I'd have to say it's worth it at that price, I feel gypped paying $50
though. I'm still playing it, though I've got all 4 characters to
50. I played the last two characters online all the way up, and I
just don't see the 'better loot with a larger party' in fact I got far
less good stuff than solo. Partly due to ninja looters, but mostly
don't see anything good drop off of normal mobs (only 1 or 2 oranges
off in 4 playthroughs), which means you only get good stuff from
chests, vendors, and set weapons from bosses, which don't increase
with more people, just more people to loot them... sorry about the
tangent.
If you want to friend me i'm jusisaur on gamefly as my original
account wouldn't work with the game for some reason. I'm not sure
I'll be playing online anymore at this point though.
