We are to migrate a 810 V5R3M0 sigle patition box to a new 825 one preloaded
V5R4M0 sigle partition too.

How would you do it ?

Is there any IBM supported and documented path to do so?

I've used to reconfigurate the new machine, by restoring user libraries,
restoring users profiles etc, but now the case now is too complex to do it
by hand, specially all those configurations contained in QUSRSYS (SYSVALS,
NET atributes, directory entries, ETC) and IFS (DDNS, DHCP, WEB Services
ETC.)

Any recomendation would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The problem is here : preloaded.

825 can support V5R3, so my preferred method would be to scratch
install the content of 810 on 825, then upgrade the 825 to V5R4. Side
by side is mostly used when OS of the target system cannot run on the
source system and OS of the source system cannot run on the target one.

You can retrieve some of this information with RTVSYSINF/UPDSYSINF
command.

The problem you are facing now is mostly for QUSRSYS and QGPL
libraries.
Take a look DSFSPWRSC. If you restored them, you will find them in
*BACKLEVEL. In this case, you just have to load the appropriate CD to
install them.

But you may find other problems later with other libraries and IFS
folders.

One option is as Marc alluded; to downgrade the target, migrate data,
then upgrade the target. However the option documented in the V5R4
InfoCenter, since both systems support V5R4, is the following:

This is a data migration scenario:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzamc/rzamc1.htm
V5R4 can be installed on the source system:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzamc/rzamcmigration.htm
Prepare the target system, prepare the source system [by upgrading to
v5r4], and stabilize source system on its new release:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzamc/rzamcmigrationprep.htm
Complete the migration using Appendix D: "Recovering your server to a
different server" of the Backup and Recovery Guide:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzamc/rzamcmigrationproc.htm
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/books/sc415304.pdf

Given both models are the same generation, the possibility should
exist to either transfer disks or use SAVSTG and restore system storage
to effect the migration. I am not aware of any instructions to do that
however.
