Hi out there,
Does some of you know how I can prevent a AS400 user from using ftp with his
username and password. I know I can end the FTP-server but that will not
always help me out.
Some users must be able to use ftp, while others don't.

The easiest & user friendly way is thru System i Navigator :
- Right click on your server connection and select "Application Administration"
- Select Tab "Host Applications"
- then open the branch "TCP/IP utilities for iSeries"
FTP is there and you can select an item an customize the authorizations for users and/or groups.

You can look at brad stone's ftp access program (www.bvstools.com) or
go to easy400.net and he has a free ftp program that you can set user
permissions and keep folks from ftping to/from the box. both work
well.

Guys,
I found it.
I now use WRKFCNUSG on function ID: QIBM_QTMF_SERVER_REQ_0 (Logon Server)
With this function it is possible to grand authority to special users and
deny all the rest.
It works fine.
