I'm trying yo ftp 2.8GB save file to my i5 (9407-515 V5R4M0).
After 2.0GB transfered ftp transfer interrupt.
How to put such a 'big' file in my i5?
regards,
tom
Where on the i5 are you trying to put it, and how? I've certainly
shoveled files bigger than that both ways. You are pre-creating your
target SAVF, right?

27. I will never build only one of anything important. All important systems
will have redundant control panels and power supplies. For the same reason
I will always carry at least two fully loaded weapons at all times.

What is the ftp error code ?
It shouldn't be a problem. Last week I ftp'ed a savefile from 20GB from
my pc to our 550 on V5R4. I used the ftp client from windows xp.
I created an empty savefile first on the 550.

I am gonna guess, he doesn't have the save file created first, a PF is
getting created and then bombs on member full.
Check to see if there's a storage limit on the user profile you're using
to connect to the iSeries. If you reach that limit, the transfer will
stop. You can either increase the limit of the profile (possibly to
*NOMAX), or you can use a different profile. Files you transfer are
usually owned by the profile you use to connect. That's true even if
the profile specifies another profile as the owning profile of objects
created by the original profile; that feature seems not to apply to
objects transfered via FTP. I used to get stopped transfers all the
time when downloading PTF files from IBM under my profile.
Thanks for replys, please see below:
- I've created save file first on i5
- there is no storage problem
- I tried to ftp by windows client and linux ltfp client
- There is no any valuable message on i5 site

Tim M pisze:
You need to obtain an FTP client that can handle 2gb plus files.
You might also consider using PKZIP for iseries to compress the file.
Note that you will need PKZIP on the target platform as well.
As mentioned on other threads, you can create zip files using the jar
utility which is part of a normal installation.

Here ist was the maximum storage allowed for the user profile used for
ftp login. See chgusrprf F4 -> field "MAXSTG".
No qsysopr message, no log entry, no message in ftp dialog. You see
this failure reason only in the joblog created in outq QEZJOBLOG when
the FTP transfer terminates. Best to be found by F11 / display date.
