FWiW the naming convention is V#R#M#. The R# is much more
important than the M#, of which the majority are M0; i.e. v5m0
should be v5r#m0 to best clarify the /installed release/ of the
client, and the server release is best recorded as well.

After signing on to each of one failing and one functional
device, issue a DSPDEVD against the device name for the session.
Examine the KBDTYPE for each. The installation of the client
software should be properly assigning the keyboard language type
according to the client language installed, and the server OS should
respond by changing or creating a compatible device. Presumably the
functional devices are using the proper KBDTYPE value; the failing
devices may be using USB or some other keyboard [language] type
instead of the expected value of either GNB or GNE [probably not the
deprecated GKB]. Search the web, possibly limited to site:ibm.com,
for any problems\fixes for the assignment of the keyboard language type.

Hello Chuck.

Both session, correct and missdisplayed have KBDTYPE = GNB, if i go
with the cmd DSPDEVD.

SystemVal QKBDTYPE is GKB.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

The QKBDTYPE setting is deprecated, replaced by GNB or GNE.
Since the problem is with every-other versus every display, nothing
seems obvious for the problem origin. The font would seem probable
[given I understand the symptoms properly], which would require that
the font was being properly applied correctly, but only alternating
for each session open. I think there is a menu option to review the
session font setting, so that should probably be verified between
sessions of different results.
