Why would they NOT be limited? It is an outdated calculator and was released to shut up the older dinosaurs that wanted an obsolete calculator. Hp guessed (wrongly, but for a bean counter selling everything at list, having one less unit vs having one to many and selling a bunch at discount, what do you think they will do?)
I am glad they sold the Hp 15c and wished they would have put a serial I/O with the ability to back up the calculator and had a remote programming feature with modern programming. I would have happily paid $200 for such an animal. I still happily paid $100+ something for the limited edition they did release. And I was going to buy a second, but like you $200 for such a calculator is a bit steep.
Obviously, you need trig or you wouldn't have bought the Hp 15c and cry about it now as the Hp12c is still readily available (and what I carry most of the time, unless I KNOW I will need the Hp 15c). Hp12c's can be had for less than $40 very easily. Good solid calculator, but it ain't a 15c either.
You can buy an Hp30B or Hp35s, both have trig, the Hp30B is awkward to use as a scientific, but can work, the Hp35s is nearly as big and bulky as an Hp48G (so I use a 48G... at my desk).
Good luck, I seem to recall you bashing Hp's (a lot)
