I'm doing some linear algebra. I have a 49g+ with the latest rom. If I
input matrices from my textbook or matrices from the HP49g+ manual
(pages 11-41, 11-42), RREF works, but REF and rref return "bad argument
type".
The matrices are type MATRX in my file manager. I checked my flags in
the HP "advanced users reference manual" and they are good.
Am I doing something wrong, or are these functions broken or
depracated?
Thank you,
Pal
REF and rref do work in Debug4X(49g+) and Power48 (49g), so it's me.
After another 45 mins setting all my flags and all my CALCULATOR modes
and all my CAS modes and all my DISPLAY modes to match Debug4X, I still
receive "bad argument type" for these two functions.
And if I type "VER", my calc returns "VER".
I feel very dumb. Please help.

Wow, the only time I heard of that happening was when the system's
"stopsign" got missplaced, e.g. in the hidden directory. The stopsign
can be forced HOME by the HOME command. Press the UPDIR key while
holding down the shift key (that's the shoftcut for the HOME command).
It MIGHT help. Worth a try, anyhow.

I don't know anything about hidden files on the 49g+ but after messing
with the thing for so long, I am familiar with all the flags and
settings now.
Thanks,
Pal
