Realtek HD sound sliders "frozen"

I have an HP Pavilion with XP Pro SP3. It uses the Realtek USB sound system. Everything works perfectly, except when you bring up the Windows mixer for recording, the sliders for Line and Microphone inputs are "frozen" near full volume. ...No this is not normal. The fan motor rotates at full speed while the main motor is rotating and should continue to ratate for 30 seconds after the main motor stops. It should also rotate at full speed, half speed, and then stop during power on and the standby period. There are only two components that could cause this.... more »

Hello group! I use some HP HASS Storage systems for rpivate. I have some spare / empty HDD containers I would use. Sone of them are marked as "SE" some as "DF". But thats not neccessarily the type of used disks. I have tried some LVD 9.1GB HDD but without success. Does anyone knows hat type of containers needs what type of HDD?... more »

hello, I've got a friend that has an HP Pavilion 412 and everytime she turns it on it doesn't get through POST and just gives one long beep and 2 short beeps. I've reseated the RAM (256MB) and even swapped out the RAM from another simlilar laptop.
