Hi all,

I have an HP dv700t laptop running 64-bit Vista Home Premium whose HD
started failing (the SMART system warned of an imminent HD failure.) It was
still under warranty so I shipped it back to HP. Before doing so, I did a
full backup to an external Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB drive.
Unfortunately the Seagate's software would not operate because the HP was
running 64-bit Vista, and it would only work with 32-bit machines. I used
the HP Backup/Restore software.

Now I have the HP back, the HD is working fine (so far) but it does not
recognize the backup I created on the Seagate. Any suggestions are welcome!

Please feel free to email me at the listed address, and follow ups are set
to Comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.storage, and comp.sys.hp

Thanks again,

Chris Thompson
