Does anyone have experience with HP's Accidental Damage Protection
(ADP) plan for consumer PC's? I sent my PC in for repair under the ADP
and HP says that I will have to pay $1080 because the problem is
"beyond economic cost". What does that mean? I spilled a drink on the
keyboard and the ADP explicitly covers spills, so why are they
refusing to repair it for free? Were did this phrase "beyond economic
cost" come from? I can't find it in the ADP agreements.

To make it even worse, when I sent the PC in it was working fine
except for some sticky keys and the finger print sensor not working.
How could their tech's come to the conclusion that the hardware is
completely broken?

Obviously you have never dealt w/HP support. They are useless.
Try escalating your case to a Sr. Case Mgr. 1-877-917-4380 x79.
That is a group located in Canada. Just have a case # handy for them to look
into.
Have all your documentation handy. Date of purchase, contract # etc.
If that doesn't help go to your local Better Bus. Bureau.
Also tell HP you are going to the PC Magazines.
Good Luck..
