Where is GDM (missing gdm.rc)

I have a fresh install of HP-UX B.11.31 on an Itanium server. During
the install, Gnome 1.4 was set to install automatically in the
"recommended" packages.

I followed the HP Docs here: http://docs.hp.com/en/GNOME/install.html

which say after I stop CDE, after you edit '/etc/rc.config.d/desktop'
to have the line "DESKTOP=GNOME", then execute:

/sbin/init.d/gdm.rc start

but there is no gdm.rc there. what gives? Does anyone else have this
problem with Gnome on HP-UX??? I've reinstalled 3 times, and I googled
for the answer, but it seems only one other person has encountered the
problem?
