I have installed the cd writer and the Adaptec Direct CD software under
Windows 98. Whenever Win98 starts up the software scans for the cd
writer and finds it.
The problem is, the Win98 machine slows down and hangs after a minute or
so with the mouse cursor stuck. The reset button is the only thing that
works then.The same problem occurs if I disconnect the writer, so
whenever I start up the machine again, the software of course does not
find the writer anymore but the machine also hangs.
