searching for a good laptop

Hi,

I am searching for a good laptop for my son and i found this one in
good price...

The choice all depends on what your son will be doing with it. The one
at Amazon there is light enough to be carried around a lot. Instead, if
he is going to be using it in one place all the time, a larger one with
a larger screen would be better, though maybe more expensive.

Get your son a well-padded carrying case, and tell him to be really
careful carrying it around.

I cannot comment on the quality of materials, quality of workmanship, or
ease of maintenance on this one. In fact, nobody can, because nobody
does hard-nosed product reviews any more, and there are no labs that
routinely tear down new laptops to see how well they are made, etc.

I only see laptops long after sale when they have failed in some way.
And then I can see how well made they are, whether they can be repaired
easily. Nowadays, I refuse to repair some laptops because they are
flimsy pieces of crap, difficult to take apart and put back together.

An extended warranty on a laptop is sometimes a good idea, depending on
cost and what is covered, because they are somewhat fragile. An
extended warranty on a desktop is almost never a good idea... Ben Myers
