I didn't see this message posted to comp.sys.dec, but I figured that
there would be someone interested in this equipment before it went to
the scrap yard.

If you simply want to scrap the boards, find an electronics recycler
(not Office Depot, Staples or any commercial store, but a real recycler)
in your area and make a few bucks. Last time I checked, board scrap
fetched upwards of $1.50/lb. Older boards have more precious metal
content, so they are worth more.

The stores only charge YOU to take the electronic scrap then sell it to
a real recycler.

Where are you located? ... Ben Myers

Grant isn't the one trying to get rid of the 4000/200 but JF. The
discussion takes place in comp.os.vms, the parts are located in
Montreal and scrapping VAX parts while other folks might desperately be
looking for them is possibly not the best suggestion.

You are correct. That's why I cross posted JF's message to
comp.sys.dec. ;) (I hope me doing that was ok.)

I may not be in to the hardware, but I'd hate to see someone who is miss
out on it to the scrap man.

Understood. A couple of years ago, I got a pile of DEC memory at a
liquidation auction. I sold a lot of it at reasonable prices, scrapped
the rest for a few bucks a pond... Ben
