Hi All,

What type of RAM works in a XP1000?
So far I figured out that it should be 168 pins sdram

Are pc100 and pc133 OK? are there any other types working?
Is "registered ECC" nescesarray?

Regards
Jouk

I haven't tried anything faster than PC100. I'd guess that
"registered" is absolutely required, because it's electrically
different. I haven't tried (couldn't even find?) non-ECC, but I'd
expect trouble from it. Years ago, when I was buying memory to fill
my
XP1000 systems, I had no trouble finding the right stuff cheaply on
Ebay, but I haven't looked lately. The key descriptor is
"PC100-222-622R". That's CAS Latency (CL) 2, registered. The biggest
ones which are known to work are 256MB. (512MB failed.) Some part
numbers:

Micron MT18LSDT3272G-10EE1 Crucial CT32M72S4R8E.18T Compaq
110958-032
(Those have a label: "256MB, Sync, 100MHz, CL2, ECC".)
Probable: Infineon HYS72V32201GR-8-C2

I might trade a full set for a working XP1000 main board (or a
667MHz
CPU board, or something else worth much more than the memory).
