I was curious about these cases. Who made them?
Is there more infos about them, somewhere?
Tnx a lot.

Francesco -
The cases may have been made by Commodore's filing cabinet division or
by a 3rd party for Commodore.
They were used in many Canadian public schools where a C64 and power
supply would be placed inside and the case locked (some adult, teacher
or perhaps maintenance person, would hold the key) to prevent students
from messing around with the computer. A slot in the side allowed
joysticks and access to the on/off switch while a round hole in the
back was used to pass through serial and video cables (and perhaps a
Datassette cable).
The top of the case provided a nice base to support a 1702 type
monitor.
Actually I don't really know if Commodore was involved with the cases
or whether some company sold them directly to the school boards.

Only superficially. There are no electronics or anything inside the brown
ones, just some brackets for holding the power supply and cables.
I have one of the brown ones, and I've been tempted to paint it white to
make a poor-man's VIC1020 ;-)
