Electronic Arts (which is typically referred to as "EA", there's
considerable debate about that middle symbol but it's not a G) is still
very much alive, although I doubt you'd find anybody who knew the first
thing about Legacy of the Ancients.

What´s the debate? Its EOA. A cube, a sphere and a pyramid. It stands
for ElectrOnic Arts. Simple and sweet.
BTW The Swedish IT consulting company Enator is using the same symbol.
Check it out at:

(I can't believe I'm posting this, but... :)
The spring 1987 issue of Farther: The Electronic Arts Magazine contains the
following letter and response:
Dear Electronic Arts,
For a long time, I assumed that your logo stood for ECA, but my friend
insists it is EOA. My other friend says that the middle character isn't a
letter at all. Who's right?
[Response:]
Listen to your other friend. It might be argued that the logo represents
EleCtronic Arts, or maybe ElectrOnic Arts. But, after several months of
high-level discussion, our Executive Staff decided that we're just plain EA.
(The sphere isn't an O or a C. It's a Nerf ball that got caught in a disk
drive about four years ago, and has been turning up on our splash screens
ever since.) For more merrie adventures of the Cube, the Sphere, and the
Tetrahedron, look on the back cover of this issue!
[The back cover contains information about a contest in which you must find
these 3 shapes on the front of 5 (out of 16) EA products packages.]

Yeah. That was exactly it. My friend and I argued over whether or not it
was an O or a C and then we found out about the Nerf ball thing and we
were both pissed off.
It uses the sphere, pyramid and cube. The symbols have nothing to do
with the UPN. N as a cube, but the U as a sphere.
Very E(nerf)A!
