FOTIOS JUMBO CART Questions....

Hey, does anybody out there happen to have a Fotios Jumbo Cart lying
around someplace that they can take a quick look at for me and tell me
something?

I have this one here, but the problem is that the two ic's are
"unreadable" so I am unable to purchase any as I "do not know what
they are!"

Any and all halp is greatly appreciated here.

Since the Fotios Jumbo cart was was never officially released I'm not sure
how many are actually out there. You don't mean the FB512 do you, which is
an entirely different cart? (I ask because of the previous confusion about
these carts and what you actually had)

Have the markings been removed or are they just not clear?

Also, didn't Fotios send you the schematics?

Well actually I am only left with TWO "problems" at this point before I can begin full production.
First, BOTH "support" IC's have had the number scratched off to the point where even with a magnifying glass and a light I still cannot read either one of them and secondly (although this may seem to be an "obviously" dumb question to most of you out there) the zener diodes have no markings on them anyplacve either so I cannot tell for certain what the values of them are neither.
Of course in "all likelihood" it's most likely either 5 volts (the most likely) or 12 volts, but being that I am uncertain of how to test this particular component, I'm kinda at a loss here as to my next step on this portion.

Those diodes aren't zeners I don't think, they are just small signal diodes.
The two chips on the other hand are likely 74xx logic. What type is hard to
guess without having the schematic.

Is your cart fully functional with a working menu?

Charles, you might perhaps reconsider going into "production" with
these. If you do not even know what components are on this thing, how
can you even consider producing them for sale? I know several people
have been helping you out, but come on man. Think about it.

There wouldn't be much for a market for these now with so many better ones
already available.

Well as you can clearly see already from the posting itself, I "am not going into production yet" as I still need to complete my research.
Secondly, I have had "exactly 3 people" help me out thus far, just for cvorrections sake.

Thanks for the suggesstions though as all input is greatly appreciated.

Anyways I'm not seeking to make a "killing" in any case, just wanting to offer up the opportunity to those interested in purchasing one is all. Secondly, due to the technologically "trailing end" nature of it, I will be offering them at a very affordable cost as well to make them at least somewhat desirable to the public.

Is the cartridge you have in possession fully working with a working menu
and selectable games on the EPROM?

I don't remember you answering that question.

Actually I did "forget" to answer that particular question. Thanks for reminding me.

Yes it "is" the one with multiple games and menu driven via the F-keys. Don't hold me to it as I have not actually "counted" the number of programs actually on it, but I'd "guesstimate" aroune 3 dozen or so give or take a few here and there.

You're also correct that I was getting the Fb-512J confused with the Multicart in our initial conversations, but now that I've gotten past all that I am now ready to move onto the next stage in development (which is nothing more than finding out what they parts are for 3 different parts-the rest I already have and have already installed and tested on the "working cart" and have found them components to work flawlessly).

Well you could work out what the two 74 series logic gates from a schematic
and some experimentation. Can you do a scan of both sides of a blank PCB
(you have those, right?) and put it up online somewhere?

I tried to contact Fotios and his email didn't bounce, perhaps he will reply
later or he's lost interest and won't respond (assuming he can still respond
ofcourse).

On the Fotios' Jumbocart prototype, we've identified the 2 chips. With the card edge facing upward, Arthur of The Other Group of Amigoids in San Jose identified the lower chip, and with the use of yellow light, Vincent M. of the Fresno Commodore User Group identified the upper chip.
