Entertainment System. Great information on pinouts, how to address the
chip, register controls, and much more. Listed as a 6502.org MUST-READ. ON
CONDITION: Shelf-worn and creased on many pages. A number of pages were

[000017] Dwyer, Thomas A.; Critchfield, Margot. CP/M AND THE PERSONAL
COMPUTER - With MBASIC * Dbase II * Wordstar * Supercalc * C. Reading,
Massachusetts, USA: Addison Wesley Publishing Company, 1983. Unknown
Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Hard Cover. Good / No Jacket. Perhaps
one of the last gasps of CP/M? In 1983, MS-DOS and IBM DOS were on the
horizon, ready to take over operating systems the world over. But CP/M was
still alive and kicking in Z80 and 8088 based systems. Explains the ins and
outs of the operating system, especially how it related to large, popular
word processing, database, and development applications and langugages of
the time. CP/M is still around today and this book is perfect for someone
still dabbling in it. ON CONDITION: Fairly shelf-worn. Slight creases along
outer edges of covers. Spine has what looks to be a knife cut. Ink remained
intact. Visit http://otakuboy.com

[000026] Glossbrenner, Alfred. THE COMPLETE HANDBOOK OF PERSONAL COMPUTER
COMMUNICATIONS. New York, New York, USA: St. Martin's Press, 1983. First
Trade. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hard Cover. Very Good / Good. Special
Edition, printed for industry. This book explains how to get online and get
into the wonderful world of BBSs, circa 1983. If you remember the computers
from the time -- XT, Commodore 64, Apple // series, CoCo, etc. Goes into
remarkable detail on the services of the time, the various communications
protocols in-use and upcoming. ON CONDITION: Spine upper and lower edges
are bent from shelf placement. Dust jacket creased along edges. Also, a
"Compliments of Hayes" sticker is affixed on front, but this may not be a
defect, depending on your opinion. First page is stamped with a "from the
library of" stamp. Visit http://otakuboy.com

[000029] McClellan, Stephen T.. THE COMING COMPUTER INDUSTRY SHAKEOUT. New
York, New York, USA: John Wiley & Sons, 1984. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾"
- 9¾" tall. Hard Cover. Very Good / Fair. A really neat tour of the
computer industry in the early 80s. All the old favorites and players are
here, from AT&T and IBM and DEC to Commodore, Atari, Tandy, Apple (right on
the cusp of the Macintosh birth, no less!!! ) . Mr. McClellen is warning
you, though. "THE COMPUTER INDUSTRY IS GONNA FREAK!" Turns out, he was
partly right. ON CONDITION: The dust jacket has bent and slightly creased
along its edges. The front of the jacket is foil-stamped, and some of the
foil has flecked off in tiny areas and tarnished on one part of the back
jacket. Also, bottom left of back jacket has its coating torn, harming some
of the text underneath. Book itself has slight shelf-wear on bottom of
spine. Visit http://otakuboy.com

[000032] Allan, Boris. POCKET GUIDE: LOGO. Bath, England, United Kingdom:
Pitman Publishing, 1984. First Edition. 32mo - over 4" - 5" tall. Spiral.
Very Good / No Jacket. A pocket reference guide for that grand, old, "easy"
language LOGO. You remember; the one with the turtles that drew lines
across your screen. Old programmers know that LOGO is a powerful language
with a deceptively simple syntax. This booklet references the entire
language. Get the book, download a development environment like WinLogo,
and go to town. ON CONDITION: Portion of the original price tag is on
front. A minor bubble on the back panel and some light pencil marks on back
panel. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$11.00

[000033] Stine, Megan and H. William. MICRO ADVENTURE NO. 2 JUNGLE QUEST.
New York, New York, USA: Scholastic, 1984. First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" -
7¾" tall. Mass Market Paperback. Good / No Jacket. Scarce - 1984 --
Computers were "the future" and kids could have it all for them if they'd
just learn how to program. This books brings kids through an adventure in
which small BASIC programs kids would enter into computers from the era
woud help save the world! ON CONDITION: Slight creases down edge of spine
and front cover. Another crease near the spine on the front cover. Both
creases crawl along the length of the book. Small dent in the upper back
cover. Otherwise, general shelf-wear. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$11.00

[000041] Commodore Business Machines. AMIGA ROM KERNEL MANUAL. West
Chester, Pennsylvania, USA: Commodore Business Machines, 1985. First
Edition (?). 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Soft Cover. Manual. Good / No
Jacket. One of the earliest versions of the kernel manual for the Commodore
Amiga systems, this one issued slightly before the introduction of the
Amiga 1000. This is a real down-and-dirty look at the kernel. System calls,
the nature of "multi-tasking" which was a wacky -- if not impossible --
thing at the time, memory and graphics support, math, audio, and much more.
End pages are function summaries, printed right out from someone's printer
at Commodore. (These pages are bound in the book, they're not loose print-
outs.) ON CONDITION: Many scuff marks about the covers and light creases
along the edges. Covers are not marred. Bottom left corner of first 10 or
so pages has a light crease. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$10.00

[000042] Commodore Business Machines. AMIGA POCKET REFERENCE GUIDE. West
Chester, Pennsylvania, USA: Commodore Business Machines, First Edition.
32mo - over 4" - 5" tall. Saddle Stitched. Very Good / No Jacket. This is a
really interesting specimen. The AMIGA POCKET GUIDE is essentially a
reference tool for everything you want to know about the Amiga, all wrapped
up in a tiny date book and note pad. What's especially curious about this
guide is it contains some items that never made it into the computer. For
instance, INTUITION, the Amiga GUI? Or how about PORTIA, AGNES, and
DAPHNE?! ON CONDITION: Light grey/blue marks on upper right section of
cover and around edges. A tiny ink mark on the back cover. Occasional
interior pages have a light ink spot toward open face edge. Light crease
near the center spine. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$10.00

[000052] Various. RUN - SPECIAL ISSUE #2 - 1986. St. Peterborough, New
Hampshire, Usa: CW Communications/Peterborough Incorporated, 1986. First
Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Very Good /
No Jacket. There were quite a few Commodore magazines in the company's
heyday, but none were quite like RUN. RUN was a huge Commodore-only
magazine. No chance of sneaking in some Apple or Atari news. This is all
Commodore. And in its pages, the Commodore rules all. This is a special
issue, full of "Beginner's Guides. " Telecomm, Graphics, Music, Care and
Maintenance. And for "new" C-128 owners? CP/M intros! Check out all the
classic ads, like the one for the Hacker Package, that promised to copy
even the most stubbornly copy-protected programs. Wanna try to sell that
today? Plus, a "complete list" of clubs and user's groups -- circa 1986.
Cool stuff. ON CONDITION: Some light ink fading on the outer front cover.
Back cover has some dark spot, which looks as if it came from improper
stacking. Light bump on the top of the spine. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$8.00

[000054] Various. AHOY! - FEBRUARY 1985. New York, New York, USA: Ion
International, Incorporated, 1985. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12"
tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket. I missed out on
Ahoy! The local magazine shop had it only rarely. Actually, maybe that's
not true. Maybe what really happened is Ahoy always sold out before I could
get the parents to take me to the magazine shop. Well, whatever the reason,
getting Ahoy was always a treat, and this issue is no different. But a pall
shadows this one: Looks like Commodore's Software Division president has
resign. And where, of all places, did he go? Atari. Could this mean the 80s
computer wars are going to go in another direction? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, take a long look at getting your C64 online, cause that's where
Ahoy says it's at these days. ALSO: A Big hunking feature on
Telecommunicating on your C64. ON CONDITION: Slight wearing along the spine
on the front cover. Slight browning on last page. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$9.50

[000057] Various. ENTER - JANUARY/FEBRUARY 1985. New York, New York, USA:
Children's Television Workshop, 1985. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12"
tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket. For a short, short
time, the Children's Television Workshop even got a bit of techno-buzz in
the mid 1980s. ENTER was a magazine geared toward educating kids about the
wonders computers. But what could have been a large, preachy magazine about
how computers are changing classrooms, is really a neat sensa-wonder
publication about super cool things to do with your computers. This ish?
1984-In-Review! The year's "Greats & Glitches". Also, a neat piece on which
companies are producing the dreaded "Q*Bert Clones". Plus, a big feature on
what laserdisc players are going to do to arcades. Remember Dragon's Lair?
ON CONDITION: Shelf-wear along the spine on both covers and along top of
front cover. Slight bump on lower right cover. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$8.00

[000058] Various. AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL - SEPTEMBER 1988. London,
England, United Kingdom: Croftward Limited, 1988. First Edition. 4to - over
9¾" - 12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Fair / No Jacket. Make no bones
about it, the U. S. Amiga scene was hot, but it was a teensy bit dwarf by
the fervor displayed abroad. Long after publications like Amiga World bound
their last issue, UK and Europe Amiga mags kept a-going on. Well, this
issue of AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL was published during the Amiga hey-days,
but open it up! Feel the FERVOR! This ish covers DELUXE PHOTOLAB, features
a BIG PHOTO ARRAY from AMI-EXPO, reviews of IKARI WARRIORS and GIANA
SISTERS, plus a huge article on Commodore's UK tech support services. (For
those of you U. S. Amigans who remember trying to call Commodore Tech
Support, this article might just make you weep. I can bag up some Kleenex
with your order. ) Full of classic U. K. Ads! ! YOW!!!! ON CONDITION:
Covers are worn from handling. Light creasing near the spine and the
corners have been bumped. Upper right corner of front cover has been sliced
-- a clean cut. It looks as if a small amount of liquid hit the rear
interior pages, warping a small spot near the bottom of the pages.
Otherwise, pretty clean. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$9.00

[000059] Various. AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL - DECEMBER 1988. London,
England, United Kingdom: Croftward Limited, 1988. First Edition. 4to - over
9¾" - 12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket. Make no
bones about it, the U. S. Amiga scene was hot, but it was a teensy bit
dwarf by the fervor displayed abroad. Long after publications like Amiga
World bound their last issue, UK and Europe Amiga mags kept a-going on.
Well, this issue of AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL was published during the Amiga
hey-days, but open it up! Feel the FERVOR! This issue, with the cool
Commodore "Sport-Service" Bus on the cover, reviews BATTLE CHESS, REVENGE
II (The Jeff-Minter Classic) . Watch the llamas. A fairly big feature on
the L. A. AMI-EXPO 1988. Also, for the historian, a nice article on CP/M
and its connection to Commodore.ON CONDITION: A fairly clean copy. Slight
crease marks around the spine. The bottom of the book near the spine was
bound too tight, so there's a slight dent near that area. Slight wearing
around the spine from handling. One somewhat apparent crease on the bottom
right of the front cover. Color is very, very good. Visit

[000060] Various. AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL - MARCH 1989. London, England,
United Kingdom: Croftward Limited, 1989. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" -
12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket.
Has an interesting ad for "The Emulator",
an program that allows you to run BBC Model B programs on the Ami. Contains
"Part II" of an introduction to the Amiga that goes fairly extensive into
the filesystem, which is a great intro if you've even got an Amiga today.
Reviews of TV SPORTS FOOTBALL, PURPLE SATURN DAY, ACTION SERVICE, and
PHANTOM FIGHTER. ON CONDITION: General handling and shelf wear -- lighter
spots along the spine. Shelf wear a little more evident on the back cover
as the background is white. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$10.00

[000061] Various. AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL - APRIL 1989. London, England,
United Kingdom: Croftward Limited, 1989. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" -
12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Good / No Jacket. Make no bones about
it, the U. S. Amiga scene was hot, but it was a teensy bit dwarf by the
fervor displayed abroad. Long after publications like Amiga World bound
their last issue, UK and Europe Amiga mags kept a-going on. Well, this
issue of AMIGA USER INTERNATIONAL was published during the Amiga hey-days,
but open it up! Feel the FERVOR! This issue? An interesting piece on the
"new" Workbench 1.3. Also, Part III of an introduction to the Amiga. This
one covers AmigaDOS, which would work well for you if you've found an Ami
recently. Lots of game reviews -- Space Harrier, IK Plus, and Super Hang
On. ON CONDITION: Great color, but a crease runs up and down the spine on
the front cover. Light creasing on the bottom-right of the front cover. The
back rear cover has a spider web crease which distracts a bit from the
color. Visit http://otakuboy.com
$9.50

[000062] Various. AMIGA ACTION - DECEMBER 1989. West Sussex, England,
United Kingdom: Gollner Publishing Limited, 1989. First Edition. 4to - over
9¾" - 12" tall. Saddle Stitched. Magazine. Good / No Jacket. One thing
those Amiga mags had was color. Full, bright, dynamic. Amiga Action was one
of the mags that poured on the color and kept it comin'. Why? Mainly Amiga
Action covered the latest games -- and that is what brings on the color.
This issue is not so remarkable for its reviews -- which happen to be
Double Dragon II, Powerdrive, North and South, and the ill-fated
BoulderDash Construction Kit -- but for its near mint early ads from
Psygnosis and Psyclapse. ON CONDITION: Price tag affixed on upper, left
front cover. Saddle-stitched spine is a little loose. You can feel a short
crease line near the spine on the front cover. Hard to see, but there.
Spine has a crease down the center and might be a little weak. Visit

[000079] Various. COMPUTE'S GAZZETTE - JANUARY 1986. Greensboro, North
Carolina, USA: COMPUTE Publications, Incorporated, 1986. First Edition. 8vo
- over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Soft Cover. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket. Like
RUN and AHOY!, COMPUTE'S GAZZETTE was a TOP Commodore magazine, and unlike
sister COMPUTER, this one was all Commodore. No room for the Apples to
crowd in on the pages. All Commodore, all the time. Oh yeah. Big feature
this time: Programming music and sound on the Commodore 128. Also, trying
to assemble your machine language quicker? The FAST Assembler has the key.
More interesting: a round-up of all the available programming language for
your Commodore 64 -- Forth, Logo, Pilot, etc. Lots of classic ads,
including a early photo of Sid Meier _and_ an ad for Fast Hack 'Em. For
those of you who know, you'd _never_ see an ad like this in a national
publication today. ON CONDITION: Light foxing on the front cover. Fairly
visible as the cover is white. Light bend in the lower left portion of the
back cover and a small nick in the upper spine. Very clean otherwise.
$9.00

[000083] Various. COMPUTE!. Greensboro, North Carolina, USA: COMPUTE
Publications, Incorporated, 1985. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
Soft Cover. Magazine. Very Good / No Jacket. The big mag that wrapped up
all the computing news from the mid-80s? (I mean, of course, aside from
those stuffy magazines like InfoWorld.) COMPUTE! It covered everything 8-
bit: Atari, Apple, Commodore. This issue contains -- ahem -- "TURBOTAPE:
SAVE AND LOAD CASSETTE AT DISK SPEEDS" for the Commodore 64 and Vic-20.
Other features: a lamentation over 1984's CES (how sucky it was), "1984
revisited" visits the hi- and lo-lights, plus a bunch of classic game ads,
include Bally/Midway's foray into home gaming, and a _really bad_ ad for
Summer Games from EPYX. Also: Enhanced Applesoft input. ON CONDITION: Very
nice. Slight foxing on the upper left front cover. Otherwise, clean with
good color and crisp conditions. Visit http://otakuboy.com
