Does anybody here have any C/C++ code snippets he/she would like to
share through Temp-C? For example, to handle databases or an app
screen or to perform a game function such as drawing a map on the
screen or handle an introduction? If so, post about them here. I can't
look at them now, for I don't have access to my e-mail account or the
disks which contain the latest version of Temp-C for DOS and Win32. If
you do, post about them here.

*ahem*

-Nobody cares about your projects.- This is because (A) -they are not
programs anybody actually wants to use- and (B) -all you ever do is
post in only vaguely related communities begging people to use them.-
You spam these threads everywhere from comp.sys.whatever to QBASIC
forums when they're at best tenuously related to -one- of the
communities that the topic gets created in, then follow up with not
only posts, but -whole other threads- whining about how nobody is
using Super Stamp Collection Organizer or whatever the hell else
you've crufted together. And then you go on to yammer about projects
that actually have something to do with the forum you're posting in,
which -you never spend any time on- because you're doing so much
nagging of half the damn Internet to use these two-bit utility
programs that would have been laughed off shareware BBSes in 1994.
PLEASE. STOP. IT.

He struck a nerve I see. Harry Potter, its because you just posted
several seperate messages stating the same thing which just SPAMed the
groups. Anyway, what is Temp-C anyway? A website? A new programming
language? Please explain how it would fit into the Commodore scene?

In article <909cc5c4-59cb-4ccd...@n16g2000yqm.googlegroups.com>,

It's a very simply DOS-based utility used to store and manage template
files (his description). Nothing more.

The trouble with Harry (Joseph Rose) is he seems deperate to make his mark
on _a_ computing community, any community, seemingly at any cost. Yes,
I've seen his postings in the various DOS groups as well. The trouble is,
when you set out with a goal of obtaining notoriety, you will typically
get it but in the opposite you expected.

The following part is intended for Joseph:

While I can somewhat admire your determination to your goal, you will
never attain it the way you're going about it. The whole reason to writing
utilities, as most of us have done or still do, is to fill a need that you
see or to solve a computing problem that you as an individual have. That's
where you must start as well. And you can't get anywhere asking for the
answers, you must find them for yourself through reading, playing,
programming and searching.

You can't write something, then proceed to beg, cajole and whine that
nobody cares because then nobody will care and will ignore whatever you do
from then on. Then you will have gained your notoriety, only on the
notorious (bad) side, not the noted (good) side.

Points to ponder, eh?

PS.

Ah, you must be new here. He's been doing this same ("I could
create..." or "Does anybody want...") type of postings for nearly 10
years now.

I am sorry about the spam. I am just over-ambitious. As to what Temp-
C is, it is a code wizard for C and C++ to start off your code through
templates. For example, if you want to create a word processor for
the C128, Temp-C would create the modules to handle the editor, the
file-picker, the UI, and a menu or hot-key system. For a game, it
would create the player, the enemies, the screen, map and scrolling,
the score, etc. You just fill in the code! It could work on the C=
scene by creating code for cc65 and perhaps Aztec C and other cross-
platform C compilers.

It writes the skeleton of your code for you, though.

As long as the're no closets involved it seems pretty strait forward.
Do you have samples or a website that someone might want to check it
out? Basically, how do we, the people, get our hands on it so someone
can use your skeleton code to build the next great game/utility?

I will post about it next when I have a preview version ready for
download. However, I don't know when that will be, expecially
considering the disks with the latest versions of nearly all my
software have been taken from me. :(

Were you visited by a burglar, or did the authorities impound your equipment?

let me guess, you have never written any non trivial program for any
commodore machine?

oh really? so he wrote a library that.... hasn't been used in any non
trivial real world program ever. i rest my case.
