Being an AtariST fan, I'm using this machine since 1985. Would like to
try MagiC 6.1/6.2 on it for free. Who can upload a (shared) copy to my
FTP server please? Thnx.

This guy has been trying for months/years in the German Atari
newsgroups and been told repeatedly that it is still commercially
available from ASH. So don't fall for his piracy plea!

But it isn't. Not last time I tried to get a copy they told me no stock.

They replied? Wow! I tried for more than a year to buy MagiC for my
Milan from ASH. I never got a reply from any of the mail addresses found
on their website/shop.

Nope, from the chap who was the UK agent at the time, who said he couldn't
get stock...
Ok... question...
I personally don't have a problem with this kind of site IF the software
is truly not available anymore. My question is, is it really illegal and
should we really worry about complaints if the software can't be bought,
the author doesn't support or update the software anymore, and obviously
there's no more money being made in it?
Ok, yeah, technically it's still copyrighted, but the purpose of the
copyright is to make sure money goes where money is due. If no money can
possibly be exchanged anymore, what's the use of a copyright?
Finally, with software like MagiC, I think there comes a point where we
no longer worry about who's making the money, and start worrying about
whether or not the software is going to completely disappear. At that
point, I say we spread it all over the place so that that does not
happen. Or better yet, beg, plead, and grovel to the author to release
it as open-source so that it can be built upon.
Just my 2c's.

Hi, that is great :) Can anyone confirm all that is necessary to get
MagiC 6/1/6/2 running is available in these files? Without me looking
into it? I'm not too advanced an user, not even ever un-zipped
anything on my AtariST, never needed to use it, though I have seen
software for in in my library. Thanks again for the link.
Server still up btw for the one peep who wants to do me the pleasure
(after all these years) ;) Can do something in return of course, just
ask please ;)
Anyone?
Btw, I do have a .ram file with the MagiC download which I haven't
seen before on the atariST platform, what is it or what has to be done
with it, please?
