That's pretty much general blah, even if is done by designer of
UltraSatan self. Yes, TOS 1.04 is little slower, but you will hardly
even notice 1% less speed. Fatal data bugs stay mostly for TOS 1.02 .
And it is not like that they happen often. Actually, they happen only
at some specific circumstances. By normal usage, when not opening too
much files and folders even TOS 1.02 is reliable. But TOS 1.04 is
much better. TOS 1.62 is in fact 99% same as 1.04 - it is just
expanded with STE specific things. Filesystem part is same as in
1.04 , Actually, if you have some ST, Mega ST, you can not go
simple on 2.06 - need additional logic for new TOS space. I have Mega
ST and ST 1024 equipped with TOS switch and can use any TOS in range
1.00 - 2.06 (1.62 is STE only, so not it, but have STE with) . It is
not true that TOS/DOS compatible partitioning works not with 1.04. It
works. And myself made multipartition TOS/DOS compatible hard disk
driver, etc.
