Anything like Action! for modern systems?

Speaking of Action!, it'd be really cool to be able to code in Action!
on a modern system (like my Linux laptop). Compile and link the binary,
and fire it off in an emulator, like Atari800.
Maybe, I guess, I should just start looking into CC65... Hrm
