Trackstar Software
|
| |
Hi, I'm looking for the most recent Trackstar software available.
So far, the highest revision I've personally seen is 1.2 that came bundled with a Trackstar Plus 2.0 board upgraded to a Trackstar E by Diamond.
However, I've seen references to 1.3, 1.5 and possibly 1.8 (the latter was from an ambiguous and somewhat unreliable source). If you have the time, please check your disks and if you find something newer, let me know. Thanks in advance.... more »

MacGate Revival
|
| |
Hello, all. I am new to the group and have only been working with Apple 2's since January. Hopefully this is the right place to post this.
Anyway, I am working with a IIGS connected to A2SERVER using the supplied VM. Thanks to Geoff I got localtalk working through a Farallon PN848.
I found some older code for MacGate and have managed to update the code to the point that it compiles cleanly and runs in the VM (Ubuntu with kernel 3.5.0). MacGate is supposed to be an appletalk to TCP/IP gateway and/or router.... more »

Novation CAT acoustic modem
|
| |
Hi again,
Looking for anyone who knows the actual release date for the Novation CAT acoustic modem. This is NOT the Apple-CAT II direct connect modem that came out in 1981, this is the acoustic one that was not only sold by Novation directly but was also rebranded for Atari, TI, Tandy, and others (including Apple).... more »

Raspberry PI board on Revolution
|
| |
This Monday's Episode of Revolution exhibited a scene
where (no good at names) the chunky guy with the beard
pulls apart a Mac SE and rips out some boards, none of
which are inside a Mac SE, and one of them is the RPi.
I paused it, having it recorded on DVR, and grabbed my
RPi to compare and sho'nuff, that is what it was. Cool!... more »

ActiveGS coming to IOS, in the form of Karateka
|
| |
But shoot it was 99 cents...

I’ve heard from a lot of people who’ve expressed the desire to replay a certain 1984 side-scrolling, bird-punching game that traumatized them in childhood, exactly the way they remember it — on their mobile devices.... more »

more analysis of Apple IIGS ROM 03 firmware bugs
|
| |
Evidently there is a bug in the Apple IIGS ROM 03 firmware that does not initialize a variable at power-on. I found the variable in the System 601 source with this note:
E1/017D byte ROMDAACT 0 = Do not activate, <> = activate Bits 7 and 6 are used as flags. ROM 3 accidentally assumes that bit 7 powers up as 0! If it comes up as 1, the user gets Visit Monitor and Memory Peeker whether they want them or not (regardless of BRAM location $59, that is).... more »

audio out from IIc connector
|
| |
I have never really understood electronics at all. I can solder a bit, and get what it means for a circuit to be open or closed, but that's about all.
I have an Apple IIc Plus, which notably lacks a headphone jack. But audio out is available on pin 5 of the video expansion connector, as detailed by Apple here:... more »
