I’ve never sold any Apple IIs but I had a request locally for a II+ and a IIe and am considering it. I looked around on comp.sys.apple2.marketplace and ebay but it’s a bit hard to figure a fair price.
What I’d be selling is a
II+ 820-0044-C with language card, 80 column card, mouse card, disk II drives, joystick, and Apple III monitor
Platinum IIe with extended 80 column card, mouse card, joystick, duodisk and Apple color composite monitor
Likely include about 50 floppies

Fair price is whatever you consider the two systems to be worth to you. Just because eBay sellers may be charging, and getting, outrageous prices doesn't mean you have to. So decide for yourself what you think a fair price is, or even talk it over with the person, or persons, you're selling the systems to and see how much they are willing to pay.

Fair price is what makes both you and the person(s) you sold the computers to, satisfied and happy with the transaction. :)

I think the guy is looking for a number, not a platitude :). A
complete and working Apple II plus like the one you described has a
market value of about $150+. The Platinum IIe with the highly coveted
color composite monitor and 50 floppies would sell on ebay for about
the same or maybe a little less. Now, that being said, I personally
would never pay more than $60 for either setup, so I guess a "fair
price" is a bit subjective, but I would say anything under $100 for
either of those units would be a fair price. So throw them a number
like $200 for both and see how they react. I rarely sell Apple IIs,
but when I do, I like to see them go to a good home above all else.
