In the July 1984 issue of Nibble Magazine, Cornelius Bongers of Erasmus
University reviewed the native mode Aztec C compiler version 1.05C for DOS
3.3 on the Apple II and Apple //e. This is a very thorough and informative
article. Absolutely first rate!

There is an ad in Nibble for an alternate shell environment (named VIX)
with the source code. It was published by a company called 'Eclipse
Systems'. They also included a text editor (w/o source). I'm not sure
why they marketed another shell unless it was designed to use the older
DOS version of Aztec C assuming this is even possible. Sadly I cannot
locate anything else regarding this shell so it may be yet another lost
II gem. I hate to see old software like this disappear. I hope someone
can eventually provide a copy.
Cheers,
Mike T.
