The first appears to be a bug in the vt100 emulation in the way
kermit processes TABs. Specifically, multiple tabs, without
intervening text, will only move the cursor to the first tab stop.
A couple of examples (^I represents a TAB and X a text entry):
0123456789012345678901234567890
^I X^I X^I X (this works fine)
^I^I^I X (this is how kermit displays)
^I^I^I X (this is the correct display)
The second sounds like it may be fixed in the beta version that Murph
Sewall announced: I would like the EXit command to issue a ProDOS
quit command instead of leaving me in basic. I select kermit from
Prosel and would like to return there upon leaving kermit. Being
basically lazy, I don't want to have to exit with EXit then type BYE.
(Note to Ted Medin: please call back to the North San Diego Apple Club
BBS (619/571-9010). You have mail waiting for you. I would like to
determine why all my uucp mail to you errors when it gets to shark.)

We haven't inherited the world from our parents, but borrowed it from our children.
Old problem. The standard GS "bell" causes that problem with all the
versions of Kermit (as far as I know). Grant Delaney sent several
alternate beeps/buzzes to APPLE2-L some time ago (at least one of which
fixes the problem). I'm also told it can be eliminated with Visibell
(sorry, I don't own a IIgs, so I'm just relying on <fallible> memory :-).
