I installed 10.4 on the emulator and set the registry as in
http://mit.edu/kolya/www/csa-faq.html#5.10

$ /install/tools/rgy_create
$ touch /etc/daemons/rgyd
$ touch /etc/daemons/glbd
$ touch /etc/daemons/rpcd [ or llbd for OS under SR10.4 ]

$ /etc/server /etc/ncs/rpcd
$ /etc/server /etc/ncs/glbd -first -create -family dds -listen dds
$ /etc/server /etc/rgyd

At next boot, I can login as
user
-apollo-
but can't administrate the system, no rights ...

I remember having done this on SR10.0, but I installed only Aegis,
due to space costrains... and had no trouble.

Any hints ?
Where am I wrong ?

"user" just has user rights. What happens when you try to log in as
root?

In other words, after a fresh installation with standard options (i.e. novice),
what are the right steps to setup the registry ?

The new registry has some nice features, but is brittle compared to
the old pre-sr10 one. The old one is probably better suited to small
home networks. But I don't think you can still run it after sr10.

Ha! Deja-Vu for me... bitsavers has the SR10.X registry administration manual on line per my request to Al...It was helpful to me :) Yeah the new registry management system seems to take alot of overhead and is designed for large networks. Its still interesting how it works.
