Hi,

I obtained an Apollo Workstation a while back, ("Domain Series 3000,
Model 3010A"), and had a go at getting it going. It had been sitting in
the owner's attic for many years though, and wasn't too happy about
being resurrected: firstly, there was an error relating to the keyboard
(sorry, I don't remember exactly what it was). I figured that the
lithium battery on-board was dead, and tried replacing that... but then
on powering up, the PSU went bang and emitted some smoke :-(

So: what to do with this stuff now? I'm moving soon, and I'm not sure I
have space for dead hardware, but I can't bring myself to chuck it away
for obvious reasons. Would anyone be interested in taking it off my
hands? I can arrange delivery in the Bristol, UK area, or further afield
in Wales, if there's anyone about who can take care of it :-)

Hardware inventory:

* Main unit (Domain Series 3000, Model 3010A). Don't know any details
of internals, apart from that the PSU is in a bad state.

* Monitor (19" or 20"?). Monochrome, apparently in good working
order. Model no. 008399.

* Keyboard. Probably short-circuited or similar (unless the keyboard
controller in the main unit is gone...)

* Mouse, attached to keyboard. Working order not determined.

* "Kurta Is/One Input System" A3 digitizer tablet, model "12 x 17".
This is lacking some necessary cables, and I'm not sure if it even
works with the Apollo (it was apparently connected to a different
machine originally).

I'm not looking for any money for this stuff, but I would really like
for it to go to somebody who knows what they're doing! (I might like to
know if you get it working too, just out of interest :-)).

Cheers,

Julian
