GVP Midi cable Spec
I have a GVP I/O card and want to build a midi cable for it. The docs state there are two serial ports, 1 par and a midi. The midi port is a db9, but I have no specs for how to build a cable for it. I only want midi in and out. I don't need midi thru. Does anyone know the proper connections? Best regards,... more »

Looking for quartz 7.159090 MHz (1084 Monitor)
Hi, I'm currently in the works with converting a 1084S Monitor from PAL to NTSC. I've already got it to work with NTSC 4.43, but to make it eat "real" NTSC (NTSC 3.58) I need a 7.159090 MHz quartz crystal. This crystal was used in NTSC 1084 and 1084S Monitors and probably also in some other NTSC video monitors and NTSC TV sets. The frequency is... more »

harddisk for a500
I want to know what kind of harddisks can I use with my A500... Can I use IDE or just SCSI drives? Can I use PC drives (I have some old 500MB and 1.2GB IDE disks lying around so ...)? How do I connect the drive to the Amiga? I noticed the connector on the back of my amiga ... but when I looked at the specifications for this connector I... more »

UK - 1500/2000 Power Supply Unit
My PSU has finally bitten the dust. It keeps blowing its internal fuse. I am informed they are not repairable and I am not prepared to spend the money on a new one so I am on the look out for a used working unit or even a complete machine at the right price. If anyone out there can help me please also contact me direct as I am no... more »

Tech Help Needed w/Quantum HD in GVP A500+
Hi, I have an Amiga 500 with a GVP A500+ Series II SCSI Hard Drive. It currently has a 50MB Quantum ProDrive installed and I would like to upgrade it. I was told that you could install a maximum of a 1GB Hard Drive in a GVP A500+, so I bought a Quantum 1GB Fireball SCSI Hard Drive. I installed the drive, booted Workbench from disk, and then loaded my... more »

A3000 Seriously Serial?
G'day, Folks. Tony's A3000 upgrade marches resolutely on. The CyberStormPPC card w/060 is on the way. Now, the modem. My beady eye is on a brand-new Diamond SupraExpress 56K ITU V.90 data/fax/voice (external). For the last seven years, I've used a Supra 1440 data/fax (external) with the A3000. The great thing about Supras is... more »

CyberStormPPC Memory Type
Hail all CyberStormers! What SIMM types are you using? Any advice appreciated. According to ads, the CyberStormPPC card has 4 x 72 pin industry standard SIMM sockets on-board, allowing up to 128 Mb of ultra fast 64 Bit RAM. OK. If I go the whole hog, that means 4 x 32Meg SIMMs. Right? (I need to check this way 'cause I'm more an 'end-user' than a 'Techie' - and nothing... more »

CyberStormPPC
...D> > When non-PPC software is run, the CyberStormPPC simply 'drops D> > down' a few gears to the speed of the on-board 060 or 040 CPU. D> > Right? D> D> Pretty much. Non-PPC software uses the onboard 680x0, PPC software D> uses the PPC. Or more acurately, everything uses the 680x0 unless it specifically... more »
