does any one have any ideas why my a4000 will not boot up,power light
comes on,hard disk light comes on and sounds like every thing is working
normal but nothing is apparently going out to the monitor, monitor and
cables have been checked all are good, any ideas and or some one who may
know how to fix it and where. any help would be appreciated.

In article <5407-384...@storefull-234.iap.bryant.webtv.net>,

I have this problem sometimes. Do you have a cd-rom drive and if so is
there a disk in the drive? After removing the disk from the cd-rom
drive, mine would boot up with no hassles. I think it was an issue with
the cd-rom drive spinning up. It did however only start happening when
I put a 3.2Gb Maxtor drive on it. I'm going to try installing a Fujitsu
drive that I got from work and see if that causes any problems.

I've had quite the same problems with my A4k and it all falls back to some loose connector of my Picasso IV board! Now, you havent written anything about some graphicsboard so maybe this wont help you at all! :-)
