Last week I got myself a copy of Sim City 3000 the Unlimited
Edition.

A very good game. That weekend I spent my entire Saturday night
and Sunday morning playing it. Though I do have a major addiction to
sim games in general, such as Caesar III and Rollercoaster Tycoon,
this one is just well, classic. Very well put together.

The last EA game I got was Need For Speed III for the Playstation.
Also an excellent game. I was rather impressed by its engine. Though
the AI is humorous in what it decides to do sometimes.

The peice of software I bought from Electronic Arts before that was
Deluxe Paint IV for my Amiga.

Well, that's quite a long time between buying EA titles mind you.
But I've never been disappointed by the software you produce. Well,
okay I do know that Sim City is really a Maxis production and that EA
acquired them, but it's the thought that counts!

At the game store where I purchased Sim City 3000, I did notice
that they sold a Macintosh version of the game. I would hope you
consider re-entering the (soon to be) born again Amiga market. I
would surely enjoy an updated version of Deluxe Paint, and Amiga
versions of NFS3 and Sim City 3000, and other stuff of course!

Soon to be born again? ;))

They have been saying that for six years. The current amiga is dead, get
over it.

Okay. Shut down the newsgroup. Everyone pack it in and go home.
Nothing here to see.

Thanks for reminding me it's dead. I would have never realized
that if you hadn't come along and told me! Phew. Really dodged that
bullet, didn't we?

"They" have been saying that? The fact that former owners of the Amiga
brand have failed to do something does not say *anything* about the
current owners.

You get over it, clueless! What are you still doing here?

I think that Electronic Arts would not be at all likely to re-enter the
Amiga market in the near future. You may recall the utter failure of the 3DO
game platform a few years ago, which had considerable backing from Trip
Hawkins, former EA CEO who was big on the Amiga in times past. That had
substantial backing from EA. There is a fairly severe sales slump in the
computer games market right now (Comp USA is drastically reducing the amount
of floor space devoted to computer games after having greatly enlarged it
last year) If former Amiga game developers like Peter Molyneux and David
Braben
see no emerging market for new Amiga games in the near future, it would seem
that it is very much an uphill battle. There has either got to be some
dramatically new and powerful hardware or a dramatically new and improved
operating system (more likely a combination of both) before most developers
are likely to even consider the Amiga. I'd say the NG Amiga has a slightly
better chance of success than the Atari Milan, but only slightly.
