I was a decent kid once, friends, a social life, well kempt. Girls liked
me. I bought a TI 99/4A. It was fun. I stayed home a little more. I started
hanging with a "different crowd". I got an Amiga for my HS graduation in '85.
Somethings changed...where are the dates...where are the phone calls...MY GOD
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME!

This very same thing happened to me, except I was using the '060 board.
I was forced to return the board and eat the restock fee, since I
couldn't do anything to correct the problem. Phase 5 has no response to
this issue, and you are about the third person in the Amiga internet
community who has made this complaint. May I ask what motherboard rev
you have, and are you using this in an Amiga 3000 desktop model? I'm
still trying to find a commonality.

Your setup was exactly as mine (again, except that I had the '060
CSMKII) so I do not understand how other rev 9.03 A3000 desktop users
with all the latest custom chips & KS 3.1 are NOT having the problems
we're having with the CyberStorm MKII! One user I spoke to commented
that even with the same revision A3000 motherboard, there can exist
other differences in the circuitry.
Makes it "easy" (NOT!!) to diagnose problems such as ours, eh?
I´ve got a similar problem with my a3000 before i´ve got my mkII.
my wdc33c93a (scsi-ctrl) was sort of dead(but not totally).
after replacing the wdc33c93a everything was fine (first i used an old
wdc33c93 from some a2090 controller.it worked (except no sync transfer
was done). if you have one, try it)
what about proper termination?
bye.

Hello .. I had the same trouble, and so did 2 other users on #amiga IRC.
It's the DMAC .. put the OLD dmac back into your Amiga. The old RAMsey
too if you changed that. Keep the newer BUSter in.
Your troubles will be solved.

You've got to be kidding me! Take out the new DMAC and Ramsey and put the
old ones back in?! I sent my MK II back to the retailer for an exchange.
When I get the new MK II, if it does not work I'll give your suggestion a
shot. Has this solved anybody elses problems out there?

Nope, Im not kidding. As I might have mentioned, 2 other people on IRC
who I speak to regularly had the SAME problem with
A3000(9/03)/Cyberstorm.
I've written Phase5 an in-depth bug report .. and I suggest you do the
same if swapping the chips fixes your trouble as it did for we 3 ..
ttyl.

I just aquired another CyberStorm MKII 060 for my new *used* A3000
desktop with the older DMAC/RAMSEY combo, and guess what? The
accelerator works!! No more hard drive screwups. Now if I can just
figure out the best way to optimize all of my programs for the 060, I'll
be set.
