I saw the wing commander demo.. man the game is going to SUCK big time,
graphic look pathetic!!!! I dont know why these companies do this.. I hate to
say it but the IBM version looks 10 times more better than the amiga version is
going to be! If this continues, I just MAY (gulp) have to buy an IBM the
games seem to be getting BETTER than the Amiga versions! and sometimes IBM
games are out LONG before the amiga versions and sometimes the amiga versions
are never released!!!!

I sure hope the game quality begins to get better!!!! This is getting really
pathetic!

I got a chance to see is also and HOLY DITHERING!!! Most of the time when you
see an IBM conversion, it's dithered in that ugly "MS-dithering" kinda way
but this is overkill! I don't even know why Origin is bothering with this
crap. Everything in the game was out of sync. The animation jerked back and
forth.

I'm just thinking that if I went through and bought an IBM, I'd have some
great stuff like Falcon v3.0, Wing Commander I/II, Ultima VII, and Star Trek
25th Anniversery with even more great ones to come like Srike Commander, etc.
The thought is tempting...

Just one question... obviously, Origin knew that this game is junk. Why'd
they even bother releasing a demo then? It would just make potential customers
into unpotential customers. If this was reallly a capitalist ploy, they'd
scratch the demo and just release the thing. Hell, I would've gone out and
bought it under those circumstances. Now, I'm just gonna wait until somebody
posts here about the official release and probably still won't buy it in the
end.

Because they want to demo how standard Amiga sucks on today's game
market. There are so many IBM gamers yell why it uses Amiga to produce
VGA graphics in WCI. Therefore, they make a GOD DAMN version to show IBM
is better than Amiga.

I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. One thing's for sure,
the Amiga doesn't support graphics standards such as VGA. Also, I seriously
doubt the Origin put out a shitty demo in an effort to put down the Amiga.
They'd ignore the Amiga before spending time and money on putting out a
demo to downgrade it.

Did you ever stop to consider that maybe it was released 'prematurely' or
perhaps "as is" as a demo so that they could perchance stop
development on it when everyone goes "Awww that sucks" perhaps they
are looking to dump it and is using the entire community to help
them along, perhaps the communists are behind it, perhaps it's
really a plot to get Saddam. Sheesh... Why speculate? $hit still
smells like $hit and is.

I saw the preview of WC in one of the Euro-mags. The in-flight graphics did
look like... well... I suppose "crap" is the most inoffensive way of putting
it, but the article made great pains to emphasize that the graphics will be
improved markedly. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen. (I won't
buy in anyway, since I've already played and completed WC on an IBM... I
wonder if the Origin-droids have taken this into account? WC has been out
so long that a significant fraction of Amigans who might have bought it
have ALREADY played it elsewhere!) So, perhaps releasing a demo with the
ugly graphics was just carelessness. Incidentally I agree with you about
dithering... look, would it *kill* them to use solid colors once or twice??

Anyway, I'm not going to get my hopes up for Wing Commander. MANTIS from
Microprose and ELITE II sound like real competition for Wing Commander, and
better on Amiga. 'Course I thought the same about Epic and look what
happened...

Having not yet seen Epic, what is the scoop? Why does it seem so many people
are putting it down? It sounds good to me.

A couple people from the net have downloaded it from the BBS.. They said they
were going to send it to an FTP site... I sure hope you guys dont commit
suicide over this demo :) I personally like the PC version better! and if
the message I read earlier on the NET, about Origin not producing any more
Amiga software, they thats why it looks so bad!

Just my opinion!
