Found an interesting story recently... Classic video game "Elite" is getting a 21st Century makeover. The owners are using KickStarter to fund the updated version. This could get interesting! :-)

Here's a link to the story:

Hope all my fellow Amigoids are doing well! What's everyone playing lately?

Thanks for the heads-up, Nate - if it happens, that could be very cool.

I would love to see this game remade for modern systems.

Would have to be kind've niche, though. I don't see a lot of releases
that aren't 1st person shooters anymore!

ISTR a discussion that the game's time acceleration/deceleration factor
would pretty much rule out the MMO possibility, but yeah, it would be
totally cool even as a solo game.

It's kinda depressing that, among the myriad of genres in the 80's and
90's, only they and maybe some RTS'es seem to have survived.

...and Japanese date-sims, probably ;).

"Er, yes" said Angus, "that's right." as he looked up guiltily from his
recent (stinking) pc release of Carrier Command. :)

As you know the Amiga original is one of my favourite games ever, but
I've got to say, I'm pretty impressed with Bohemia's attempt to remake
it.
