Dear All, Was curious to know that for an analysis of scripted speech for French and English, which language in the general case will have more number of short speaking pauses or inter-syllabic pauses? Is it english because French has longer word durations? Can somebody point me in the right direction and possibly some evidence please?... more »

While this news group seems pretty dead I'll try any way... Can anybody enlighten me how 14Bit sound is done on amiga hardware? As far as I've been able to dig out, it seems that some manipulation of the 6 bit volume registers is performed? But exactly how?
