OmniClient & Server 2008

Hello,
Has anyone managed to get OnmiClient to access shares from A Microsoft
Windows Server 2008 machine?
When I try to connect I get the error "Connection Rejected by Server"

I'm using OmniClient version 2.04.

Hi Rob,
This is a bit of a wild guess as I don't have a copy of WS 2008 but
issues I've had crop up are:
Does WS2008 have a guest account? - Maybe Omni Client is having
trouble with access.
On the subject of access:
Check Administrative Tools: Local Security Policy -> Security options
'Limit local account use of blank passwords to console login only:'
Set this to disabled.

Now, that's probably not helped your general security but hopefully
will have helped Omni Client.

Thanks Charles,
I gave that a go, sadly no joy!
There is nothing logged in the eventlog on the server,
I wonder if there is any way of logging the communication between
OmniClient and the server??

I'll keep trying!

Bad luck,
Here's another thought:

Unless my memory's given up completely I'm sure There's a version of
Omniclient that comes with RO5...
...I downloaded it off ROOL's website a while back in the interests of
'I wonder how many of the ROOL apps will work with RO4.x and do I
prefer any of them?'

It did!

Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has been updated in comparison
to the old Acorn version - maybe even fixed the long file name issue
with Omniclient. Maybe better behaved with later versions of Windows?

Now I've reminded myself of this, pardon me while I go dig it out have
another play. :-D

I tried the version from the ROOL website, same issue :(
Does anyone know if LanMan98 can access shares on Windows Server 2008?

Sorry to hear it was no-go... Sadly I don't have a copy of LM98 to
test.

One thought:
Omniclient's never been able to find one of the XP laptops on my
network (fine with all the other computers). I've never bothered to
find out why, but assume it's something buried in the network
settings...

...I'd like to think it could be a similar issue with your setup
rather than SW2008 itself - time I compared said laptop to my other
computers & see...

...just a thought for a 'quick fix':
