I'm not sure if my experience is relevant but FWIW:
As you can read, below, I have been using Blogspot. Free and easy to
use before Google got its hands on it and 'improved' it. I never
realised it was possible to post pics as well as drop edit files or
write in real-time until I was forced to borrow a laptop. The
interpretation of the 'dashboard' - which is what they call the user
interface, appeared slightly differently and there were more pushable
icons.
Googles first improvement cause my Iyo to become confused when
rendering the dashboard, but I got around that because there was an
alternative 'mobile' site.
However, having been dormant for a few weeks I have recently realised
that I've nothing on my Iyo which will open the dashboard. I can read
the site but nothing else. So I write on the Iyo and transfer to a
laptop via the network and upload with that.
I haven't been able to locate an alternative, free, hosting site yet
and my generated traffic doesn't justify paying for one - I think.
(Incidentally, I bought one of those Android Scroll tablets from
R-Comp. It allows me to access the dashboard, but when I try to
edit/create a blog the optical keyboard won't appear!)
