Follow 'Info' on Zap's iconbar menu and then click 'Modes'. You'll then
get a Throwback window showing all the modes currently loaded together
with the module supplying them. You should see Text, Byte, Word, ASCII,
Code, HalfWord, DoubleWord and Throwback are provided by 'core', the Zap
module itself.

ZapText is 'a central repository for text-related Zap extension
commands' and not tied to any particular mode. As above, text mode is in
core.
I cannot help with your other queries but (when using RISC OS) I have
used Zap 1.47 (17 Oct 2005).

I'm not nearly as think as you confused I am.
When Zap 1.47 (17 Oct 2005) crashes Iyonix 5.13 (quite frequently)
usually using text or email modes, it has usually run out of memory!
I have 512MB and notice before Zap crashes that it has grabbed a
mass of memory, (memory leak?) Starting up Zap booted its 180K used.
This has happened twice recently grabbing virtually all 462K free slot.
Can you check your Tasks next time Zap misbehaves?
I suppose this Memory leak (if that is what it is) ought to be reported to
Zap developers.
Regards, David.
