An Iyonix in Buskerud.
Today just "Uknown host", can't ping either. Have I missed the
announcement of the demise of ROL? Or have I got a localised DNS
problem?
Cheers
Stan
I'm seeing the same here. Maybe they've had a cock-up with renewing their
hosting fees or something?
Thanks,
Steve

For me, as of just now:
http://www.riscos.com/ says "403 Forbidden"
http://www.riscos.co.uk/ says "DNS server claims query was misformatted"
(NetSurf)
(I can never remember which of those is correct, but IIRC one redirects
to the other.)

Now we know what happened to that RiscPC with a pizza oven built into
it :)

Now that's a computer company I'd like to work for. Bit of hacking
upstairs then downstairs for a pizza. :-)
Except according to Google Streetview it appears to be a shut down
sandwich shop now.
Cheers,
Ollie
.......with chips of course ;)

You mean RISC OS Ltd or Zak's Pizza?
Cheers
Stan
Riscos Ltd gave up the shop in Clarendon Road nearly three years ago
-- address is now 143 Allensbank Rd, Heath, Cardiff, CF14 3PQ, fone
(029) 2061 9942.
maybe the pizza-oven RiscPC was considered part of the premises and
stayed with the shop as part of the deal. by the way, wasn't it the
point that the pizza cooked from waste heat given off by Intel chips
in that RPC slice?

The riscos.com contact page cached by Google clearly gives the
Allensbank Rd
address although various business directories still list the Clarendon
Rd address
as being where ROL is located.

Mmm. If you like.

Well, all I can find on that road is Zak's Sandwich Shop with painted
out windows. No sign of Zak's Pizza or RISC OS Ltd. For all I know, they
shared premises, ROL upstairs and Zak's downstairs. More likely ROL
is based in one of the houses.

Ollie

Paul Middleton asks me to post this:
It seems our old server died over the weekend and hosting
was transferred via a backup to a new virtual server.
However, the DNS entries for the new server are screwed up.
Hopefully they'll fix it soon. A consequence is that the
riscos.com mailserver is also down.
Meanwhile I have a private contact route for Paul if anybody needs to
reach him urgently. He's away on one of his lighting jobs for a few
days.
