i vaguely recall hearing news of his moving it, some months back, but
can't track it down.

Hmm... unfortunately, though, the link on that page for his other software
returns a 404, and the contact link still attempts to find the page on the
old picindex.info site.
If you need to contact him more urgently than just hoping he'll notice this
thread (he is still around - I have a post here from a couple of days ago),
try using "johnrwilliams" at "tiscali.co.uk"
(And I've cc-d this to him in the meantime).

Google has found him at http://petit.four.free.fr/picindex/author/ and
he was posting recently on comp.sys.acorn misc, where there is a coded
version of his e-mail address. I can't see Taskcheck, though.
