Blogging software

browsers? That is, a blogging platform on which you can log in and edit
posts and use the essential admin features (don't mind if we have to use
Firefox for the rarer aspects of blog management). We've tried installing
WordPress on our web site, but could not even log in with NetSurf, and
Oregano 2 crashed when we tried to edit a posting.

Livejournal seems to work ok with Netsurf. At least to the extent that I
can login and make an entry OK although Netsurf doesn't format the page
entirely correctly so that the Post entry button is obscured but pressing
Enter does the job.. Manage to do the password changing stuff as well
though it did suggest it would be easier if I had Javascript turned on.
Inserting images doesn't seem possible as that and other advanced functions
needs Javascript.
Works also in much the same way with O1 but layout of the page is a mess.

With Cutenews you can use NetSurf, but you cannot have multiple
categories and no Short Full story choice.
There was an earlier version of Wordpress that did work with NetSurf.

One possibility that's open to you with WordPress is to set up an email
address for the blog (which you don't let anyone else know about), and you
then compose your entries in your email client and email them to the blog
address.
It might not be the ideal solution - it depends exactly what else can and
can't be done with NetSurf, and what you consider "rarer aspects of blog
management" - but it's a possibility.
Other blogging systems might offer a similar facility. Dunno. I only know
it's there with WordPress because I set it up on one of my domains
yesterday.

Thanks - that is an interesting option.
We're managing with Oregano 1 at the moment, which does limit making postings
to the RISC PC. I expect we'll delve into the PHP code and fix the login
issues in due course.
