I've just received a communication from this company which claims that I could get an income tax refund of up to £945. My instinct is not to touch this with a bargepole. As I see it I could only offset the loss against other capital gains to reduce cgt if I'm over the threshold, and I could claim this directly from HMRC rather than paying another... more »

I have just set up my BBC computer for my grandchildren. My son sat down to play Chuckie Egg and on his first game for over 20 years got to level 22 with a score of 270,230! He is now 39, so it shows how many hours he must have wasted playing it as a schoolboy! Alan Griffin

Bizarre problem with FTPc

I've got a most weird problem with FTPc this morning. For some reason it won't load at all and simply gives the error message "Task not known" when I double-click on it. I have just bought an Olympus Stylus 840 digital camera. It shows nice pictures on its monitor screen. I want to use the photos to illustrate points in a document but unfortunately it downloads in RAW format and the Olympus Master 2 software that goes with it is completely useless on my Dell PC.... more »
