Reading a voltage on 2 lines using a Pi
|
| |
Hi Guys,
As a part of my pet project, I have finally got fed up with the full blown keyboard in my car, and I would like to use my Rover 75's steering wheel audio controls.
They communicate through 2 wires, with a different resistor for each button in between as described below:

Old Acorns and New Tellys
|
| |
Apologies if this is covering old ground but I couldn't see any threads on it and a google search didn't show much either.
I would like to be able to have an RISC OS 3.1 machine and also a BBC Micro all nicely set up to use regularly, but due to lack of space this isn't remotely possible, but I was wondering the following would... more »

RPC battery replacement
|
| |
Has anyone tried using one of the large memory back-up capacitors instead
of a battery. I see these can now be purchased as large as 22F at 2.3V or
1.5F at 5.5V

Compact Flash "drive" on RiscPC via Unipod
|
| |
I'm puzzled about why a Compact-Flash-to-IDE adapter isn't working on my RiscPC quite as expected.
The CF card and adapter work with no problem on the Iyonix, but when I plug the same card and adapter into the IDE slot on the Unipod on the RiscPC (4.39), nothing appears on the iconbar. I didn't have to do... more »

Iyonix Reset Button Connector
|
| |
Can anyone please tell me were on the Iyonix motherboard, the Reset button (purple and white wires) connects to? The two-pin connector must have come unplugged from the header when I was cleaning out the case. The motherboard headers are numbered but not marked with their functions. Or where I can find this information?... more »

RISC PC and USB keyboards
|
| |
For ages now I've been using a wireless mouse (Logitech) via a USB to PS/2 adapter (which came with the mouse) and the required PS/2 to Acorn converter gadget. This works well with my RISC PC (without any USB board).
I though I would try to see whether a USB keyboard would also work, using a USB to PS/2 'keyboard' adapter. (I suspect the only difference... more »

Serial Numbers
|
| |
I am sure this has been asked lots of times before, but I am trying to understand the Acorn Serial numbers.
Currently I have 2 A3010's
01-AGB15-1016418 (Motherboard 194,003 Issue 1)
25-AGB11-1017102 (Motherboard 195,200 Issue 1)
Now from what I understand the AGB15/AGB11 is the type of pack the machine came in (learning curve, family pack etc), but what I want to know is what the 01/25 mean on the beginning and if the serials on the end run consecutively.... more »

Iyonix died
|
| |
Well, my Iyonix died yesterday. When I switched it on,
the monitor complained of "Disconnected", but would display
perfectly well from another source. After a few attempts
with similar results except that I normally had to press
Reset to get it to boot at all (still no display at all), I
decided to open the case and re-seat all the cards. I also... more »

Wakefield News
|
| |
Hiya,
I had hoped to go to Wakefield this year but didn't fancy doing the trip and then a night shift at work. I'm finding it a struggle to see any news from the show. Apart from another post on this NG about Netsurf 3, I have seen nothing.
Was there anything particularly interesting announced / launched?... more »

Samsung CLP-415NW laser printer
|
| |
Hi
I'm thinking of purchasing this printer as I'm sick of messing with ink cartridges. It is supposed to work with Postscript 3 so should be OK with MW's PS3 driver.
It's not very fast and doesn't do duplex but these things don't bother me. It does have built-in wifi which could be really useful.... more »
