Star Fighter 3000 outside the box

I have just released version 3.15 of Star Fighter 3000, which adds an option to scale the display to 320x480 when running in full-screen mode. This prevents letterboxed (or postcard) display on VGA-type monitors.
I gave up trying to persuade my monitor to display a 320x512 screen mode properly. It is a shame because that mode would have eliminated all visual artefacts of scaling, being exactly twice the game's native vertical resolution.... more »

Bug in Acorn Doom

Lately I have been editing an add-on map for Id Software's classic game 'Doom' in Deth. I may be the last masochist using RISC OS both for creating and testing Doom maps, but I thought it worth writing up my findings for posterity here.
After a few hours spent reading about how sound is supposed to propagate from sector to sector, I concluded that there is a bug in the Acorn port of 'Doom' published by R-Comp Interactive. For those of you interested in 8 bit Beeb gaming, and brand new game has been released. It's called Zen and is a massive arcade adventure.
It was written in the 1980s but remained unfinished until now, it is available to download from [link]

Magic Mushrooms on RISC OS 3.7

I've been having problems getting Magic Mushrooms to run properly on
RISC OS 3.7. The front end seems to be doing something which the OS
really doesn't like, but it hasn't caused me any trouble on any other
OS.
Can somebody using 3.7 download the latest version of Magic Mushrooms[1]
