I got it for the Electron one Christmas (probably around 1987) but I just
could never dock the darn thing and it was black and white. Always liked
things like Revs and Thrust more than Elite.

Nope, I hated Elite too, found it totally boring and tedious and not
remotely interesting or exciting in any way at all. In fact in was
probably the only BBC/Electron game I never bought, as I originally
borrowed it played it and gave it back pretty quickly, just wasn't for
me i'm afraid.
I did have Revs and Thrust, found them hard to play but far more
interesting than Elite.
I appreciate that Elite was a technically advanced game and a lot of
people did enjoy playing it, and it is an important chapter in Acorn
gaming history but it didn't do anything for me at all.
