Error message printed to screen
|
| |
Over the last couple of weeks I have replaced my hard disc directory structure with the new ROOL updated image, adding in and adjusting to match my requirements. I'm running RO5.14 flashed to eeprom. Recently I've been getting an error message printed directly to the top left of the screen that I can't trace. I thought it might be... more »

Y2.01K bug in other equipment & 2026! Dubbed by [link] 'The Y2.01K bug' the start of the new year has hit other equipment as well as the Iyonix! *** A new year bug has scuppered card transactions at thousands of Australian shops for four days so far, because systems at the Bank of Queensland say it... more »

Educational titles from 4mation
|
| |
I wonder whether anyone can tell me whether StrongARM compatible versions of the following educational titles from 4mation were ever produced: A mouse in Holland Explore with Flossy the Frog Neither of these runs on our StrongARM Risc PC (RISC OS 4.02). We've tried also under Aemulor Pro on the Iyonix: Flossy the Frog works but A Mouse in... more »

Clock fixer for Iyonix
|
| |
I've just uploaded a little piece of BASIC called ClockFixer which might help Iyonix users whose clocks are showing 2012. The program corrects the year and can be installed to run when the computer is booted. If you are using NetTime or FreeTime to maintain your clock then you might not need this program, but it can still be useful if you ever reset without an internet... more »

Happy New Year ! Switching on the machine today at 1.56 a.m this Iyonix 5.14 has jumped straight to 2012 ! Its keen. So Organizer( 2.04) told me of everyone's birthday for the next couple of years. Odd how the clock/Alarm (2.79) jumped ahead? Brian

Number Train compatibility problem
|
| |
Our four-year-old has just been given a copy of Number Train from Sherston Software, which came on a triple-format CD. While away over Christmas we tried it on grandad's Windows 98 PC and it worked fine, and the recipient enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, coming back to our exclusively RISC OS and Linux house, we have so far been unable to get it to install on any of... more »

Password Info App
|
| |
For years I have been using !Password by J Peachey v 1.54i (26 October 2006) to hold yep, passwords, and for the 4th time it has corrupted all those following where a chnage has been made in the list. What do others use to hold and encypt such data? Increasingly, it needs to keep reminders to test questions, account numbers, website address,... more »

The great RISC OS spell-checking problems:
|
| |
It seems to me that there are many huge defficiencies in Spell-checking implementations on RISC OS. 1) The user-dictionaries are far too small to be useful. Even 8 x 8kB is far too small. 2) There is no 'BACK' button to press if you accidentally go on to the 'NEXT' word that needs attention. 3) There is no way to see let alone edit or delete the words the user... more »
