  Yes; if it&#39;s to be sent to a PC user the file has to be named &lt;br&gt; &amp;lt;whatever is the filename&amp;gt;/jpg in RISC OS, otherwise Windows won&#39;t &lt;br&gt; know what to do with it. The mail app replaces the slash with a dot, &lt;br&gt; which you can&#39;t use in a RISC OS filename. &lt;br&gt; With best wishes, &lt;br&gt; Peter.

  Not a lot of use for a text file which is what the OP specified. &lt;br&gt; Presumably he&#39;s Sleuthed it and wants to send the text - in which case &lt;br&gt; call it something/txt and drop it into a Pluto or Messenger Pro window. &lt;br&gt; They will give it a suitable something.txt filename for the PC. &lt;br&gt; Cheers, &lt;br&gt; Ray D

  If it&#39;s an image of a text document the best way is probably to send it as &lt;br&gt; a PDF. After scanning, print the image to PDF and send it with a .pdf &lt;br&gt; extension - or /pdf if you are dropping it into Pluto. &lt;br&gt; Cheers, &lt;br&gt; Ray D

So &lt;br&gt; exactly the same as RISC OS in that respect. JPEG, TIFF, etc. &lt;br&gt; Pluto can add the correct file extension for you - dunno about Messenger. &lt;br&gt; But if it is a text file surely you can send it as a plain email?
