Can somebody help me with a 32-bit version of Menon?
Somebody in the Dutch user group said it was converted to use on the new
machines but I can't find it anywhere.
Though there are aplications that do the same thing and a lot more
'singing and dancing',I just like the siplicity of Menon.

Thanks

Yes that's me. I have converted it to 32 bit. At the moment some
options are not yet compatible with RISC OS 4. Like the 'Menon
background' option and 'virtual desktop' which crashes the RISC OS
desktop. I'll look into these things and try to fix them.

It's good to know that you are continuing the development of Menon.

I've been using it for years - currently with RO6.16 - and it's one of
the programs that I would not like to be without.

A trivial request: please could you arrange that clicking 'Save' also
closes the 'Menon Choices' window.

Is there a homepage for Menon, please. Had a quick web search but
could not find one.

Not that I'm aware of. I can let you have a copy of Menon, if that's
what you need.

There is a Menon 2.06 at http://arcade.demon.co.uk/filepages/file36.htm

Nothing very exciting happens on VRPC OS4.39, a module task is running but
there are no other signs of life. Menon 2.06 does start on a real RiscPC
running OS4.04, the desktop background disappears and the Menon diamond is
there at the top left.

Yes, it is a launcher. http://oldcoaster.drobe.co.uk/menon_207.zip
contains the application, and an Impression copy of its internal text
help file.

I gave a link to version 2.07 in another post.

The Memon icon can be set to appear on the iconbar - where I normally
use it - in which case the pinboard is not affected.

StrongMen is what I've been using for years, and it very efficiently
does all the launching that I need. It was originally by Guttorm Vik,
but Fred Graute took it over at one time. I can't find it on the web
now, though.

With best wishes,

Peter.

Sorted. I issued a *pinboard command to remove the backdrop on
OS4.39/VRPC/Mac and the !Menon diamond was revealed waiting to be menu
clicked on.

Thanks for that. I already have it, but others might be interested.

I am using version 1.86 on a VRPC-SA using RISCOS 4.02 with no trouble.

I too have used it for very many years and find it invaluable.
