I use Apricote's Prophet a lot. It would be very useful to have two windows
of the same ledger open at the same time so that I can enter new entries at
the bottom whilst still being able to see the existing entries around the
same date.

Anyone know of a way to do this?

I've tried reclicking on the purchase ledger in the main menu and with
Ctrl,Shift or Alt held down and using right button!

Two workarounds@
Create multiple blank entries around the date you are working on then resort
by date and edit the date and enter the rest of the details. A bit messy!
or
Save the file under another name and load that but it would be easy to get
confused which copy of purchase ledger you should be entering into!

I have quite a few regular payments in the standing orders section, so that
when every three months I need to enter the other payments the
contemporaneous entries are off the top of the screen!

Which reminds me maybe a should move over to a Raspberry Pi with rotated
screen. A 1920 pixel height Purchase ledger would display a lot of entries!

Will Prophet work on Raspberry Pi ? I an in contact with Frank Clayton about
making one of his other programmes Share open source and working on Raspberry
Pi, and old purchased copies of Share will definitely not work on Raspberry
Pi (Machine Code section and locked to original machine.)

Have you had any recent contact with Apricote ?

I was frustrated trying to do this once, so took a snapshot with Paint!

Another alternative. I tried:
> Save the file under another name and load that but it would be easy to get
> confused which copy of purchase ledger you should be entering into!

I also remembered that it is easy to change the colours for Paid, UnPaid etc
so I wasn't confused and could have scrolled around, so I think better than
a Paint snapshot. But then I realised I really wanted to edit some of the
older entries.

So I used:
> Create multiple blank entries around the date you are working on then resort

Which worked very well I added a blank entry of date 2.M.Y where M & Y are
the month and year I wanted to add to then:
4.
6.
8.
..
30.
Which was quick to enter and when I finished I only had a couple of blank
entries to delete!

p.s. I'll try Prophet on a Pi as soon as I can find the time.

My copy of !Prophet 3.92 worked and nice and fast (Without Aemulor). But I
think I did the hack that made it BeagleBoard o.k.! My !RunImage is BASIC
with a 2011-11-08 date. I'd would not expect unhacked versions to work.
Though they may under Aemulor!

I did enquire a few years back about various options open source or
ourselves taking over sales and upgrades. IIRC the response was that
Quentin's financial backer said no.
I emailed again about a year ago just re upgrades but received no reply.

Quentin has now retired from the company and now doing something else
in another field - marketing I think.
